Balanced portfolios managed by RCB have historically provided individuals, families, foundations and endowments with a risk-averse blend of our core, large cap value equity style and a limited maturity fixed income approach focused on the preservation of capital and the provision of superior long-term returns.
Our approach to asset allocation is driven by specific client goals and our fundamental investment approach. Equity allocation is higher when attractive ideas present themselves and vice versa. Normalized equity allocation for unrestricted accounts has ranged from 45% to 70% over recent years.
RCB pursues a quality-oriented,
limited maturity approach to fixed income. We strive to minimize
risk in the fixed income portion of balanced accounts. We
accomplish this goal by focusing on the zero to 10-year segment
of the yield curve and purchasing investment grade corporate
bonds when we determine spreads are attractive. We also utilize
a variety of government agency bonds.
RCB has also developed expertise in the California municipal bond market through more than forty years of experience in managing money for wealthy individuals and families.
